Find out how I plan an illustration from start to finish. First I decide what I want to draw and look up inspiration in the big wide web. Then I figure out the shapes and where I want to put things. Then I write a list of things I want to have in the picture, a garden gnome, a painter, pots, pans, toaster, marmalade, a pig lamp, amelie, photos … After that I look up references for those things (here all from the film ‘Amélie’). Then comes the messy line art and when I’m pleased with the outcome, I go over it with cleaner lines. Last but not least I colour it in 🙂
I currently have this thing with some of my friends, where a word is posted everyday and everyone in the group has to draw something regarding that word until the next day. Here are some of the things I drew. Most of them are a bit strange but it’s a very good thing to practice new stuff – and to have to draw something everyday.
Hello there, in this blog post you can find some of my recent gouache paintings. In the last half a year I only drew digitally and while I had a lot of fun with it, I started to get a kind of itching in my fingers to make something analog again. So on a rainy afternoon – as I stood at the bus stop next to the university I saw the art store over the street and decided to buy some gouache. I am having a lot of fun with this new medium and can’t wait to get better at it.
I also tried doing the Blissplantweek (a drawing challenge from the 14th to the 20th of July) with gouache. The challenge hasn’t started yet, but I already finished the paintings 🙂 Oh, and here you can see how I paint in three steps:
In this blogpost you can find one of my recent projects in university. I had a course this semester where we made some book covers. I plan on making some more over my summer break because I had a lot of fun drawing those.
Ok, ok I can understand if you had enough of me talking about Good Omens. But… I can’t help it, I’ve been falling head over heels deeper and deeper and deeper. So I thought I would just collect it all in one place, my art (the longer I look at it though, I think I didn’t do them justice, I mean – they’re so perfectly cute irl and not in my illustrations), some videos I can’t stop watching. Also did you know that David Tennant has a podcast? And did the audiobook of ‘How to train you dragon’?? Well you know that now. Take a look at the hashtag #ineffablehusbands to find some seriously funny comics and fan art & check out my post on Instagram, I’ve collected my favourite art about it there. I someday want to make something that makes so many people happy, I mean there are people who have watched the series over and over and over again and then bought the book (or have already read it) and watched every freaking available video about it. And some people wrote 15 pages long texts about the relationship between Aziraphale and Crowley. I want to create something that ripples so much, that spreads so much joy that people can’t think about anything else really. But, let’s be honest – I don’t think I’ll ever do. I mean, nothing can be better than Good Omens. That’s for sure.
Hello friend, in this blog post you can find some recent and some a little bit older banners and logos I made for my Etsy Shop and my website. Every other month, when I look at my online stuff I am not entirely happy with how everything looks – so I usually remake all my headers. If you like what I do, just contact me and I could make a header or logo for your page or store or anything. Head on over to my Commissions section to look at what I already made. You can find a list of prices there too. But if you’re unsure about anything or just have some ideas, write me! I’d love to hear about them!
